Initiatives to Address Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

SDGs is an abbreviation of the Sustainable Development Goals, which are the international goals set for 2030 in the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” adopted at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015.As shown in the illustration below, “17 goals to transform the world” were set forth with the aim of ensuring all people can enjoy peace and prosperity, making the pledge to “leave no one behind.”

ASIRO and SDGs

Based on its mission to “make everyone involved happier than anyone,” ASIRO operates services aimed at optimal matching of people facing legal problems with attorneys as its core business.

In addition, the company provides services for referring attorneys to companies considering hiring internal legal counsel, outside directors and back-office menbers, and also provides insurance products enabling attorney’s fees to be covered by insurance claims through ASIRO Small Amount and Short Term Insurance, a company in which ASIRO has invested.

These businesses operated by ASIRO provide opportunities to access legal services, and contribute to the sustainable development of society through the expansion of business because they make a substantial contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) unanimously adopted by 193 members of the United Nations in 2015.

Themes ASIRO is Focusing Upon

Of the 17 goals listed in the SDGs, ASIRO is focused on “Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.”

The legal media sites operated by ASIRO are used by more than 40 million users per year. We aim to eliminate the disparity in information on legal issues by operating sites enabling correct legal information to be obtained for free by anyone from anywhere at any time. Furthermore, users’ ability to use the Internet to compare attorneys has led to some attorneys introducing fee systems such as offering services with “the first consultation free” and “on a contingency fee basis.” We believe that the creation of diverse options has lowered the barrier to legal services and enabled support for the creation of an environment where it is easier to consult and hire attorneys.

Moreover, in addition to improving legal access for companies by providing services for referring attorneys to companies considering hiring internal legal counsel , outside directors and back-office menbers, we became a subsidiary Kailash Small Amount and Short Term Insurance, which sells insurance products enabling attorney’s fees to be covered by insurance claims to address the problem of legal fees, which is one of the main concerns when hiring an attorney.

ASIRO will continue to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs through these business activities in the future.
