Personal Information Protection Policy

ASIRO Inc. (hereinafter, the "Company") fully recognizes its social responsibility with respect to the protection of all personal information that it handles, and complies with the protection of the rights of data subjects and with laws, regulations and other rules concerning personal information. The Company hereby declares that it has established a personal information protection management system to give effect to the policy set forth below, and that it is committed, on a company-wide basis, to the continuous improvement of that system, while remaining constantly mindful of trends in information technology, changes in societal demands, and shifts in the business environment.

  1. The Company shall acquire, use and provide personal information as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information ("APPI") only to the extent necessary for the legitimate conduct of its business operations — including its internet media business, web marketing business and other advertising businesses, small-amount short-term insurance agency business, non-life insurance agency business, legal-tech business, recruitment placement business, and any other business operated by the Company — and to the extent necessary for the employment and personnel management of its employees.
  2. The Company shall not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the specified purposes of use (use beyond the purpose of utilization). In principle, the Company shall not change the purposes of use of personal information except where it has obtained the prior consent of the data subject; provided, however, that this shall not apply where the Company changes the purpose of use within a scope reasonably found to bear a substantial relationship to the purpose of use prior to the change, after first publicly announcing the purpose of use as so changed.
  3. With respect to its handling of personal information that it has acquired, the Company shall comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, guidelines and other guidance concerning the protection of personal information, and other laws and regulations relating to the protection of personal information.
  4. With respect to the protection of personal information, the Company shall implement appropriate organizational, physical, personnel-related and technical measures, and shall take such measures as are necessary and appropriate for the security management of personal information, including the prevention of leakage, loss or damage of the personal information that it handles. In the event that any such incident should nevertheless occur, the Company shall promptly take corrective action.
  5. When personal information is no longer necessary in light of its purpose of use, the Company shall erase or dispose of such personal information; such erasure and disposal shall be carried out only to the extent necessary for the conduct of its business, and by means that are necessary and appropriate to prevent the risk of external leakage or other such risks.
  6. The Company shall respond promptly, in good faith and in an appropriate manner to complaints and inquiries concerning its handling of personal information.
  7. The Company shall review its personal information protection management system in a timely and appropriate manner in light of changes in the environment surrounding the Company, and shall continuously promote its improvement.

The Company shall make this Policy known to all of its employees and shall make it available to any person at any time by posting it on the Company's website. The Company has established the following contact point and person in charge with respect to the handling of personal information.

Privacy Policy (Notice Concerning Personal Information)

In managing the personal information entrusted to it by users in connection with the various services that it provides, the Company exercises the utmost care and handles such information in the manner set forth in this Notice Concerning Personal Information (hereinafter, this "Privacy Policy"). Except with respect to any provision that specifies the particular service to which it applies, the following provisions apply in common to all services (hereinafter, the "Services") relating to the Company's internet media business, attorney advertising business and other web marketing and advertising businesses, insurance agency business, legal-tech business, recruitment placement business, and any other business operated by the Company. Provisions that specify the particular service to which they apply shall take precedence over these commonly applicable provisions. In using the Services, Users may be asked to give separate, express consent at the time of membership registration, submission of an inquiry form, or otherwise; however, even where such consent is not obtained, a User's use of the Services shall be deemed to constitute the User's consent to this Privacy Policy. Any User who does not consent to this Privacy Policy must immediately refrain from using the Services.
* This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal information that advertisers placing advertisements on the Services (including professionals such as attorneys and judicial scriveners) obtain directly from Users. The handling of personal information by advertisers is governed by each advertiser's own privacy policy.

1. Handling of Personal Information

Personal Information of Customers of the Services and of Advertisers

The Company may acquire personal information relating to users of the Services (hereinafter, "Users") or to persons who place advertisements on the Company's websites (hereinafter, "Advertisers"), from such Users or Advertisers, to the extent necessary for the operation of the Company's information-providing websites and other websites under its management (hereinafter, the "Sites") and of the Services. The Company's collection of personal information in operating the Sites is carried out within the scope necessary to achieve the following purposes:

  1. To operate, maintain and manage the Sites
  2. To provide personal information to business partners for the purposes of the Services
  3. To provide or introduce various services of the Company or its business partners
  4. To conduct surveys for the purpose of improving the quality of the Sites and the Services
  5. To use for the improvement of the Services and support, and the development of new services and marketing materials (including statistical analysis, market research, and use in publications and the distribution of information, of anonymized inquiries or communications provided to business partners)
  6. To notify Users of changes to the Company's terms, policies and other rules relating to the Services
  7. To perform work entrusted to the Company by business counterparties and others, where such work involves the handling of personal information
  8. To exercise rights or perform obligations arising under a contract between a User and the Company or under laws and regulations
  9. To provide or introduce services of business partners (including attorneys, judicial scriveners and real estate business operators)
  10. To provide the following items of personal information to business partners for the purpose of introducing services or products offered by the following business partners:
    • Small-Amount Short-Term Insurance Company: The User's name, contact information, and other personal information provided by the User to the Company.* The Company is an agency entrusted with insurance business by ASIRO Small-Amount Short-Term Insurance Co., Ltd., and this includes the provision of personal information for the purpose of introducing services or products offered by that small-amount short-term insurance company.     • Real Estate Business Operators: The User's name, contact information, real estate information, and other personal information provided by the User to the Company.
    • Judicial Scrivener Offices: The User's name, contact information, real estate information, and other personal information provided by the User to the Company.
    • Insurance Agencies: The User's name, contact information (email address and telephone number), and other personal information provided by the User to the Company.
    • Other Business Partners Expressly Designated by the Company: The User's name, contact information (email address and telephone number), and other personal information provided by the User to the Company.
  11. To manage applications for and the conclusion of usage agreements relating to the Services, the provision of the Services, billing for charges, inquiries regarding the Services handled by the Company, emergency communications, the management of customer information, and other various communications and correspondence
  12. To manage usage fees and other monetary claims relating to the Services and to collect such claims (including through outsourcing to external operators)
  13. To communicate inquiries and consultation content submitted through the Sites to attorneys, judicial scriveners and other professionals, and to provide such consultation content to them
  14. For the following matters necessary for the operation of the fee-charging employment placement services provided as part of the Company's recruitment placement business (hereinafter, the "Placement Services"):
    • Registration for the Placement Services, changes to registered information, and withdrawal procedures
    • The appropriate introduction to the Company's clients of "Registrants, etc." (a collective term referring to registrants of the Placement Services, job seekers, persons who have received job offers, and persons wishing to undertake internships, among others; the same shall apply hereinafter)
    • Various communications relating to selection and hiring between Registrants, etc. and the Company's clients
    • Responding to inquiries from Registrants, etc.
    • Providing Registrants, etc. with various communications relating to employment, job changes, internship information, and the like
    • Conducting surveys to improve the quality of the Placement Services
    • Introducing the Services through the Placement Services
    • Other purposes incidental to the foregoing
  15. To measure advertising effectiveness by acquiring, through cameras mounted on AdTrucks (mobile outdoor digital signage) and similar devices, video footage and facial images of persons passing on public roads, and analyzing attribute information such as gender and age group (for details, see Section 7-2, "Handling of Camera Images in the AdTruck and Other Outdoor Camera Systems," below)
  16. To provide personal information to third parties as set forth in "Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties" below
  17. To achieve other purposes related or incidental to the foregoing

Items of Personal Information Collected

(1) The following information relating to Users

  • Name, age, gender, address, telephone number, email address, and LINE account
  • The content of communications or inquiries made to the Company
  • The User's history of use of the Services; the content of inquiries or communications made to third parties (professionals such as attorneys and judicial scriveners, and other Advertisers or business partners) through the Services, whether by inquiry form, inquiry email or other means; and browsing history(The foregoing items are used for the purpose of being provided to business partners by the Company, in its neutral capacity as the operator of the Sites, excluding statistical and marketing analysis performed after anonymization.)
  • The means of payment for usage fees relating to paid services and various information relating thereto (including information relating to credit card payment processing by Stripe, Inc.; provided, that the Company does not retain confidential information such as card numbers)
  • Video footage and facial images of passers-by captured on public roads by cameras mounted on AdTrucks and similar devices (in principle, deleted immediately upon completion of the process of extracting attribute information such as gender and age group; only statistical information is retained. For details, see Section 7-2 below.)
    The following information relating to the use of LegalBase (for details, see Section 7-3 below):
    • Subscriber and user information: name, email address, telephone number, name of affiliated company and department, account ID, and the like
    • Document data such as uploaded contracts (including cases where such documents contain the personal information of third parties), and the input/output history of the AI legal check function
    • The content of questions and consultations submitted through the legal chat function, and the chat history with attorneys
    • Search queries (company names, personal names, and the like) and search results in the anti-social forces screening service (RISK EYES)
  • Information relating to other items individually specified by the Company in addition to the foregoing

(2) The following information relating to Registrants, etc. of the Placement Services

  • Basic information: name, address, age, date of birth, gender, contact information (telephone number, email address, and the like), photograph, and the like
  • Background and qualification information: educational history, employment history (including job titles and positions), qualifications and licenses held, academic records from schools attended, examination results for qualifications held, and the like
  • Information relating to desired working conditions: desired industry and occupation, type of employment, annual income, and other desired working conditions
  • Other: information other than the foregoing that is stated in documents submitted by the Registrant, etc., such as a résumé or curriculum vitae, or that is otherwise provided by the Registrant, etc.

2. Use of Personal Information

Except in cases specified by laws and regulations, the Company shall use personal information acquired based on the consent of the data subject within the scope of the purposes set forth in Section 1 above, and shall not provide such information to third parties beyond that scope without the data subject's prior consent. The Company shall, in accordance with laws and regulations, respond to requests from data subjects for the disclosure, correction, addition or deletion of their personal information, or for notification of the purpose of use, and shall respond appropriately to opinions and consultations. The provision of personal information to the Company is voluntary; however, if a User does not enter the items required for a given aspect of the Services, the User may be unable to receive the relevant Service.

3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company provides personal information, in writing or by electromagnetic means, to the following recipients in accordance with the respective items below. In respect of certain services, the Company may adopt the "joint utilization" framework under Article 27, Paragraph 5, Item 3 of the APPI.

Provision to Attorneys, Judicial Scriveners and Other Professionals, and Business Partners

Within the scope of the purposes of use set forth in Items 1, 9 and 10 of Section 1(1) above, the Company provides the personal information of individual customers (name, contact information, and other personal information) to its business partners (attorneys, judicial scriveners, real estate business operators, small-amount short-term insurance companies, insurance agencies, and the like). In addition to the foregoing, the Company may also provide personal information to third parties after obtaining the consent of the data subject.

Provision to Recruiting Companies (Placement Services)

The Company provides personal information relating to the Placement Services to third parties in the cases set forth below. In addition to the cases set forth below, the Company may also provide personal information to third parties after obtaining the consent of the Registrant, etc.

  1. Provision to the Company's Clients
    • After Registration for the Services: The Company may provide information relating to a Registrant, etc. to a hiring company in a form that does not identify the individual Registrant, etc. (such as information on the Registrant's current job duties or position; provided, that this shall not include the Registrant's name, contact information, name of affiliated company, or the like).
    • At the Time of Application for, or Selection for, a Job Opening or Internship Offered by the Company's Client: The Company's placement personnel provide to the relevant client, on behalf of the job seeker, internship applicant or other User, the personal information of the User that is necessary for the application to the client's job opening or internship.
    • After a Hiring Decision (Including for an Internship) by the Company's Client: The Company provides to the client the personal information necessary for the on-boarding procedures of the person who has received the job offer.
  2. Provision to Affiliated Agents (Including Specified Job-Information Providing Business Operators) and Other Business Partners
    The Company may form partnerships with third parties in order to provide the Placement Services and improve the Services. In such cases, the Company may, within the scope of these purposes of use, provide the personal information of a Registrant, etc. to the third party with whom it has partnered.

Provision to Advertising Distribution Operators

Where necessary for the optimization of advertising distribution and the measurement of advertising effectiveness, the Company links information held by the Company with user lists held by domestic and overseas advertising distribution operators (such as Google, Meta and LINE Yahoo) in order to distribute and analyze advertisements suited to the User, and to display advertisements appropriate for the User. The items of information provided in such cases consist of hashed email addresses and telephone numbers, cookies, advertising identifiers (AAID and IDFA), usage history, and the like (and, in the case of the Placement Services, additionally include the occupation and annual income band (desired annual income band)).

Provision Pursuant to Laws and Regulations

Notwithstanding (1) through (3) above, the Company may provide personal information without the consent of the Registrant, etc. in the following cases:

  1. Where based on laws and regulations
  2. Where necessary for the protection of a person's life, body or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the data subject
  3. Where particularly necessary for the promotion of public health or the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the data subject
  4. Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government organ, a local government, or a person entrusted by either of the foregoing, in the performance of affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the data subject's consent is likely to impede the performance of such affairs

4. Joint Use of Personal Data

The Company jointly uses personal data as set forth below.

Joint Use with Subsidiaries and Affiliated Companies

  1. Scope of Joint Users: ASIRO Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies.* The specific company names are posted on the Company's website (the list of Group companies page on the corporate site).
  2. Items of Personal Data Jointly Used: Name, contact information (address, telephone number, email address), service usage history, content of inquiries, transaction details, and other information necessary for the provision of services.
  3. Purpose of Use by Joint Users:
    • Provision and improvement of services across the Group as a whole
    • Responding to inquiries from users, and customer support
    • Improving operational efficiency through the sharing of information within the Group
    • Performing personnel-related operations, accounting operations, and operations relating to the operation and maintenance of in-house systems, among others, entrusted by Group companies
    • Introducing and proposing services provided by each Group company

5. Outsourcing of Personal Information, etc.

Outsourcing of Personal Information

In connection with the operation of the Services, the Company may outsource the handling of personal information to an outsourcing contractor. In such cases, the Company selects the outsourcing contractor on the condition that the contractor has established and operates an appropriate personal information management system, and stipulates in the relevant contract the matters necessary to prevent the leakage of the personal information of Registrants, etc., such as the proper management and maintenance of confidentiality of personal information, and causes the contractor to implement appropriate management accordingly.

Handling of Personal Information upon Business Succession

Where the Company's business is succeeded to as a result of a merger, company split, business transfer or other cause, and personal information is transferred in connection with such succession, the Company shall handle such personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use of that personal information as it existed prior to the succession. In such cases, the recipient of the personal data does not constitute a "third party" under Article 27, Paragraph 5, Item 2 of the APPI, and the procedures relating to provision to third parties shall not apply.

6. Provision to Third Parties Located in Foreign Countries

In order to display advertisements better suited to the needs of Users, the Company may provide a portion of personal data (such as hashed email addresses and cookies) to advertising distribution operators located in foreign countries, including the United States. The Company has confirmed that the recipient operators have taken measures corresponding to participation in the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules ("CBPR") System and to the OECD Privacy Guidelines. For information regarding personal information protection systems in countries outside Japan where personal information may be stored, please refer to the website of Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission: Survey on Systems for the Protection of Personal Information in Foreign Countries.

7. Use of Cookies

The websites and Services operated by the Company use tracking tools such as cookies to improve convenience, distribute advertisements, and obtain statistical data. Through these tools, the Company may acquire system information necessary for the display of pages, information for confirming that a customer is the same person, a customer's behavioral history (pages accessed, content viewed, and the like), device information, and location information. Although such information does not, by itself, include information that identifies a specific individual, the Company may, by cross-referencing it against information held by the Company, identify the individual and use such information within the scope of the purposes of use.

7-2. Handling of Camera Images in the AdTruck and Other Outdoor Camera Systems

Acquiring Entity and Outsourcing Structure

The Company (ASIRO Inc.), in its business of measuring advertising effectiveness using cameras mounted on AdTrucks (mobile outdoor digital signage) and similar devices, handles personal information as set forth below, as the entity responsible for managing the handling of such personal information. The Company outsources the collection of video footage to truck operators, and the processing and statistical compilation of data to annotation contractors. These outsourcing contractors operate under the Company's supervision and are selected on the condition that they have established and operate an appropriate personal information management system.

Information Acquired and Purpose of Use

The Company acquires video footage and facial images of persons passing on public roads, extracts attribute information such as gender and age group from such footage and images, and uses that information for statistical analysis of the attribute composition of advertising viewers (measurement of advertising effectiveness). Raw data such as acquired facial images is, in principle, deleted immediately upon completion of the process of extracting attribute information. Only statistical data (numerical information that cannot identify a specific individual) is retained.

Provision to Third Parties and Joint Use of Personal Information

Personal data such as the video footage and facial images acquired is provided, as an outsourcing arrangement, to the truck operators and annotation contractors selected by the Company as outsourcing contractors. Use or further provision of such data beyond the scope of the outsourcing purpose is prohibited. The Company does not provide such data to third parties other than these outsourcing contractors, except where based on laws and regulations or where the consent of the data subject has been obtained. Statistical information (that has been processed so as not to identify a specific individual) is not subject to regulation under the APPI, and the Company may accordingly use such information within the scope of its business purposes.

Security Control Measures

In light of the nature of camera images and facial image data (including that such data is highly immutable and may enable the tracking of an individual's movements), the Company implements organizational, personnel-related, physical and technical security control measures (Article 23 of the APPI). Specifically, the Company: (i) restricts and logs access authority to video data; (ii) exercises appropriate supervision over its outsourcing contractors; (iii) appropriately manages and disposes of data storage media; (iv) implements technical security measures (such as encryption) for transfers over networks; and (v) establishes technical access controls for systems that process personal data.

7-3. Handling of Personal Information in LegalBase

Nature of Personal Information Handled by LegalBase

In LegalBase (a legal-tech service), in addition to the personal information of the subscriber and its users, data such as contracts uploaded by the subscriber (hereinafter, "Document Data") may contain the personal information of third parties (such as personnel of business counterparties). The Company uses such Document Data only within the scope of the purpose of providing the AI legal check function, and disposes of it without delay after that purpose has been achieved. Further details regarding the handling of Document Data are as set forth in the terms of use for that service.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties in the Anti-Social Forces Screening Service (RISK EYES)

The anti-social forces screening service is jointly provided by the Company and its business partner, RISK EYES Co., Ltd. The Company provides search queries entered by the subscriber (company names, personal names, and the like) to the business partner, and provides the subscriber with the results of matching those queries against the database held by the business partner. This provision of information is carried out pursuant to an outsourcing agreement between the Company and the business partner. The business partner maintains its own privacy policy (https://www.riskeyes.jp/privacy).

Payment of Usage Fees (Stripe)

Payment of usage fees for LegalBase is made through the payment processing service provided by Stripe, Inc. (United States). In connection with such payment processing, Stripe, Inc. may collect and process a User's IP address, browser information, device information, and the like, for the purpose of detecting fraudulent use. Confidential payment information such as credit card numbers does not pass through the Company's servers and is processed solely within Stripe, Inc.'s secure environment. Sharing of Information with Attorneys in the Legal Chat (THEMIL)

In the legal chat service (THEMIL), questions and consultation content entered by a User are disclosed to the registered attorneys who participate in that chat (hereinafter, "Registered Attorneys"). Registered Attorneys are independent legal professionals and are not employees of the Company. The Company is involved only as the provider of the means of communication (the platform) and does not itself perform legal services. Where consultation content entered by a User contains personal information, the User acknowledges in advance that such personal information will be shared with the Registered Attorneys. Where the relationship between a Registered Attorney and a User transitions into an individual attorney-client engagement, the handling of personal information in that relationship shall be governed by the privacy policy established by the relevant Registered Attorney.

8. Handling of Special Care-Required Personal Information

Where the Company receives special care-required personal information relating to a User (such as race, creed, social status, medical history, criminal record, or the fact of having suffered harm from a crime), the Company handles such special care-required personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The Company uses special care-required personal information only in connection with the particular Service that the User has requested to use.

10. Retention Period of Retained Personal Data

The Company retains and uses personal information within the scope and for the period necessary for compliance with laws and regulations or for the achievement of the purpose of use. Information relating to hiring companies and job seekers is, pursuant to the Employment Security Act, appropriately retained and managed — including job-seeker management registers and the like — for the period prescribed thereunder (in principle, two years from the conclusion of the handling of such information, among other periods).

11. Handling of Anonymously Processed Information

The Company may create and use anonymously processed information by processing personal information so that a specific individual cannot be identified and the personal information cannot be restored.

Purpose of Use of Anonymously Processed Information

  1. Creation of statistical data, analysis of market trends, and market research
  2. Ben-Navi: the creation, publication and distribution of legal information articles based on consultation content that has been anonymized
  3. Placement Services: the creation, publication and distribution of articles on successful job-change case studies, with information that could identify individuals withheld
  4. Data analysis for the improvement of services and the development of new services

Public Disclosure of Items Contained in Anonymously Processed Information

  1. Age group, gender, and area of residence (at the prefectural level)
  2. Category of consultation (divorce, inheritance, debt restructuring, and the like), and a summary of the consultation (to the extent that it does not identify the individual)
  3. Service usage history, pages viewed, time of use, and the like

* When creating or providing anonymously processed information, the Company implements appropriate processing and security control measures in accordance with the standards prescribed under the APPI. Where the Company provides anonymously processed information to a third party, it takes appropriate measures, such as public announcement, in accordance with laws and regulations.

12. Requests for Disclosure, etc.

With respect to personal information subject to disclosure held by the Company, the Company responds, in the manner set forth below, to requests from the Registrant, etc. or their agent for notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion of content, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of provision to third parties (hereinafter, "Requests for Disclosure, etc.").

Notification of Purpose of Use or Disclosure of Personal Information

A User may request notification of the purpose of use of personal information or disclosure of personal information. However, the Company may decline to make disclosure where any of the following applies:

  1. Where disclosure is likely to harm the life, body, property or other rights or interests of the User or a third party
  2. Where disclosure is likely to significantly impede the proper conduct of the Company's business
  3. Where disclosure would violate laws and regulations
  4. Where the Company is unable to confirm that the request for disclosure is made by the data subject

Correction, Addition or Deletion

A User or other data subject may, in accordance with the procedures set forth in (6) below, request the correction, addition or deletion of their personal information. In such cases, the Company shall, without delay, conduct an investigation to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use, and shall, based on the results of that investigation, correct, add to, or delete such personal information to the extent permitted under the APPI.

Suspension of Use or Suspension of Provision to Third Parties

A User or other data subject may, in accordance with the procedures set forth in (6) below, request the suspension of use of their personal information or the suspension of its provision to third parties. In such cases, the Company shall respond appropriately in accordance with the APPI.

2. Procedures Relating to Requests for Disclosure, etc.

  • After receiving your request, the Company will mail you the prescribed request form to be used, entitled "Request Form for Disclosure, etc. of Disclosure-Subject Personal Information."
  • Please mail the completed request form — together with, if the request is made by an agent, documentation confirming the agent's status, and, in the case of a request for notification of the purpose of use or for disclosure only, a postal money order for the applicable fee — to the Personal Information Inquiry Desk above.
  • After receiving the above request form, in order to verify your identity, the Company will ask you to provide approximately two items of information registered with the Company that can be used to confirm your identity (for example, telephone number and date of birth).
  • The Company will respond by whichever method you designate: provision of an electromagnetic record, or a written response.

3. Procedures for Requests for Disclosure, etc. Made by an Agent
Where the person making a Request for Disclosure, etc. is an agent, please enclose documentation proving that the person is an agent, together with documentation proving the identity of the agent. In any document containing information regarding the registered domicile (honseki), such information should be limited to the prefecture level, with any further detail redacted (for example, blacked out). In addition, please either send documents that do not contain an Individual Number (My Number), or redact (for example, black out) all digits of any Individual Number contained therein.

14. Advertising and Other Communications

The Company may contact customers directly on their electronic devices or mobile devices by electronic means such as email, mobile email, SMS or MMS, or may provide information through its official website or official application, regarding matters relating to the provision of the Services, and Users consent to such communications. A User who wishes to decline such communications shall notify the Company by the method separately designated by the Company. Notwithstanding any such notification, the User agrees that the Company may nevertheless contact the User where an accident relating to the Services occurs, an event obstructing the provision of the Services occurs, or another event requiring the User's attention in connection with the use of the Services occurs.

15. Special Terms for Individual Services

Not limited to the personal information set forth in this Privacy Policy, where it is necessary to provide for the handling of personal information specific to the characteristics of an individual service, such handling shall be separately provided for in the privacy policy or special terms of that particular service. Where this Policy and any individual special terms are in conflict, the individual special terms shall prevail.

16. Amendment of this Privacy Policy

The Company may amend this Privacy Policy in response to changes in laws and regulations, business necessity, or other reasons. Where the Company makes an amendment, it will publish the latest version on the Company's website. With respect to any amendment that has a material effect on Users, such as a change to the purpose of use, the Company will give advance notice thereof on its website, by email, or by other means.
